Date

Location

Skyline Facades delivered a fully non-combustible aluminium cladding system for the 505 St Paul's Terrace in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The project involved removing combustible PE cladding and installing 1,500m² of solid aluminium cassette panels with sharp 15mm shadow joints. To complement the design, 300m² of Apex AP700 cladding panels were added in Surfmist-matt for a seamless finish and superior weather resistance. All works were completed on a live site with staged handovers, ensuring minimal disruption. This fire-compliant façade combines architectural form with long-term durability and low maintenance resulting in a sleek, code-compliant façade ideal for high-density urban developments.
Key Design & Installation Highlights
1,500m² of solid-aluminium cassette cladding with non-combustible 3mm material folded off-site for perfect 10mm sealed joints and dual finishes (smoke-silver metallic and brushed aluminium) for a crisp, contemporary upgrade.
300m² of concealed-fix ribbed panels (700mm cover width). Wide-span profile secured with hidden clips for a clean, uninterrupted surface. High wind-load capacity and excellent water-shedding performance. Surfmist-matt tone brightens the tower and pairs seamlessly with existing glazing frames.
Live-site delivery, staged works kept all tenancies open and safe throughout the reclad. Tight-access solutions, custom mast-climbers and after-hours craning enabled precision removal and installation in narrow laneways. Compliance & longevity, all new systems meet NCC non-combustibility requirements and offer long-term colour and gloss retention in Brisbane’s subtropical climate.
Outcome - A safer, sharper façade that safeguards occupants, preserves the tower’s sustainability credentials, and extends its service life, delivered without disruption to daily operations.
